This piece began long before I ever created it. Years ago, I practiced a form of journeying, similar to the way shamans traveled inward. It is a trance‑like state, somewhere between waking and dreaming, where you enter your subconscious through symbols. Everything you encounter carries meaning, and the journey often begins by imagining yourself entering a rabbit hole, a cave, or even the hollow of a tree.

Years later, in the present, I saw this tree in our neighborhood and something in me recognized it instantly. I felt an immediate connection. I took photos, studied its presence, and taught myself how to use editing tools so I could give it the glow and the feeling I saw in my mind.

The Light Within is a reminder that the doorway we seek is already inside us. The glow in this tree is the same glow that lives in every one of us.
