My painting, which I call PEACE of My Heart, imprinted on this coffee mug, was inspired by the venerable monks from Texas who walk for peace across parts of America. They traveled 2,300 miles through the heart of winter, leaving behind a trail of joy, compassion, and calm that touched countless lives.

I was reminded of the legend of baby Siddhartha Gautama, whose first steps were said to cause lotus flowers to bloom beneath him. That story came alive for me as I watched the monks journey, noting the joy and peace they left behind in their footsteps for so many people. I chose to paint lilies in their footprints as a symbol of that peace and serenity.

I also wanted to honor the deep love and respect they received from people of all backgrounds along their journey, represented by the man bowing as they passed. Every element—the snow, the swans, the mountains, the graffiti on the boulder—all reflect the sense of hope and tranquility their walk brought to me.

My wish is that this artwork, and the mug it is printed on, brings that same peace and joy into your life.
